Prior to her Coronation Street role, she acted on the television series Spender and Soldier Soldier. After leaving the Street, she hosted her own DIY series and then acted on the drama Down to Earth, and appeared in a series of SCS adverts promoting soft furnishings.
In 1995, her double-A side "You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me/Cry Me a River" spent three weeks in the UK singles chart. As Natalie Barnes.Welch has been married to actor Tim Healy since 1988. They have two children, Matthew and Louie In 2002 she guest starred in Holby City playing risk manager Pam McGrath. Since 2006 she has appeared in Waterloo Road and still plays the role as of Series 3. She is a regular panelist on ITV1's Loose Women where she has discussed her experience of having an abortion when she was younger as well as her experience with depression. In June 2006 she guest appeared in The Bill. |
